Your Guide to Staying at KOMU
How do I check in?
Check-in at KOMU is simple and self-guided, so you can arrive at your own pace. Before your stay, we’ll send you self-check-in details via your booking platform. On arrival, you can head straight to the chalet and let yourself in.
Can I have an early check-in?
Check-in is from 3PM and while we do our best to accommodate early check-in requests, we cannot guarantee. If you arrive before the chalet is ready, we will be happy to store your luggage for you.
Can I send my luggage ahead of my check-in date?
Absolutely, you may send your luggage ahead of your scheduled check-in. Please inform us beforehand and we will provide the necessary delivery address. Your belongings will be securely stored until you arrive.
Is there daily housekeeping service?
We do not provide daily housekeeping so that you can enjoy complete privacy. For stays of 7 nights or more, we offer a complimentary mid stay refresh. If you require additional housekeeping services during your stay, please inform us prior to your arrival and we will provide a customized quote.
How should I handle trash during my stay?
Please use the labeled bins in the kitchen for your trash. When a bin is full, please place the trash bags in the outdoor bin located by the side of the chalet. Extra trash bags are available in the kitchen for your use.
Am I able to prepare my own meals?
KOMU features a fully equipped, self-catered kitchen with modern appliances - perfect for preparing anything from light breakfasts to cozy dinners. Enjoy the convenience of cooking at your own pace with cookware, utensils and tableware all provided. We provide salt, pepper & cooking oil.
Is Wi-Fi available throughout KOMU?
Unlimited use of Wi-Fi is available throughout the chalet.
How do I adjust the temperature of the chalet?
KOMU is equipped to ensure your comfort throughout the year. Floor heating for the winter can be easily adjusted to your preferred temperature via the controllers located in each room. Air-conditioning is available during the warmer months.
How far is KOMU from basic amenities?
KOMU is conveniently located with essential amenities close by. Being in Misorano means you enjoy the peaceful surroundings while still being close to everything you need.

How do I get to the ski resorts if I don’t drive?
Hakuba Valley has a shuttle bus system during the winter season and the nearest shuttle stop is less than a 3 mins walk from KOMU. For routes and schedules, please check the official Hakuba Valley website.
What are some places to explore around Hakuba?
Hakuba offers much more than skiing, with beautiful nature, mountain viewpoints, cafés, hot springs and cultural attractions throughout every season. From scenic spots within the valley to popular day trips, there is plenty to discover during your stay.

Can I invite additional friends or family members to stay overnight?
To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests, and to comply with local lodging regulations, only the guests listed on the original booking are permitted to stay overnight. If you would like to add a guest to your booking before you arrive, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate them if the maximum capacity allows.
Is there a barbecue area available at KOMU?
Yes - during the green season, guests can enjoy the outdoor BBQ at KOMU. We provide a Weber BBQ, charcoal and all the essential tools you need for a relaxing BBQ experience. Please note that as the BBQ is outdoors, it may not be suitable in rainy weather. To help us maintain harmony with our quiet neighborhood, we kindly ask that outdoor dining wraps up by 10PM.
Is smoking or vaping allowed?
KOMU maintains a firm non-smoking and non-vaping policy and any evidence of smoking or vaping inside the chalet will incur a cleaning fee. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us create a welcoming and fresh space for all guests.

The location is a few minutes' drive from Iimori and Goryu slopes, and Hakuba 47 is not much further. We also went to Tsugaike on two days, even though that was a longer drive at 20 plus minutes. Nestled in a residential area, it was very peaceful, and accessible to restaurants, pharmacies and supermarkets. For our family members who did not ski, they were able to easily drive around the area to explore as well."
